Mrs. Jenny Lanier, Director of Bands
The band currently has over 130 members, which includes 7th, 8th and 9th graders. The band performs at two community concerts yearly. The band is in its fourth year under the direction of Mrs. Lanier and continues to grow. The bands earn consistent ratings of Excellent and Superior at state and southeastern U.S. festivals. West McDowell Band has been represented by band members at Northwest District All-District Band Clinics as well as North Carolina All-State Band.
This website will be maintained to keep all band members and parents up-to-date on all band events. Please check back often!
Announcements  Holiday Concert - Dec. 3The 2009 Holiday Concert will be held Thursday, December 3 at 7:00 PM at East McDowell Junior High School Auditorium. Each grade will perform a variety of holiday tunes!
All students are required to attend and stay for the entire concert. This concert counts as three test grades for each student. Please remember to bring your season passes for the concert that your child gave you at the beginning of the year. A $2.00 admission is requested from all adults. Band Files
